Yosemite View Lodge most definitely exceeded our expectations after reading all the previous reviews. We were very conscious of this not being a good hotel but were pleasantly surprised to say the least. The hotel is absolutely huge, it’s like a mini complex and has ample parking. The rooms are definitely dated and the cleanliness isn’t up to a great standard. However, the rooms are really big, comfortable beds and surprisingly modern bathroom. We also had a balcony which had a lovely mountain view. In reality we weren’t in the room for that long anyway so it didn’t matter. We found all the staff to be really helpful and attentive. Yes it’s annoying you have to pay for WiFi ($10 per day for 2 devices) and the food options on site are overpriced, but it’s also the best location for access to the park. It is amazingly located and only a 10 minute drive to the Yosemite entrance (depending on the time of day you go). The laundry machines are also reasonably priced and work pretty efficiently also.

this is the perfect location to visit Yosemite so book as soon as you can. And if you can, get river view. June 2023 was a late snowfall so the river was wild flowing past the lodge, and great to look at from the balcony albeit you could not talk over the noise. With a spa bath even better but not so important especially as if it is hot, and there are some spas in the pools,. Short drive to Yosemite but go early to get parking. The pizza parlour is great - really tasty pizzas and lovely staff. Restaurant also good but quite pricey. There is a shop but if you can bring food, rooms are equipped with cooking facilities, hob, microwave, kettle - which is excellent. Several pools also very good. Beds very comfortable and rooms large and clean. We had to swap rooms on last night (my booking fail) and the family room is also very good, 2 huge rooms and each with its own bathroom and again kitchen facilities and a veranda.

The location is excellent, you are just outside the entrance to the park, although it's about a half hour drive or more to the Yosemite Visitor Center. The room was very clean. I got a good price by booking on short notice during a period of possibly questionable weather. I would not pay the $300 plus tax rack rate here. Location or not, that is poor value. I paid $160 per night including taxes, which was fairly reasonable. They have a nice area down by the Merced River with sitting swings. Despite being right on the main road into the park, the room was very quiet. Climate control very intuitive. I was easily able to get a good temperature despite it being quite cool overnight.

This is the third time we've stayed at the Lodge, but the first time for our daughter and grandson. The location at the entrance to Yosemite is beautiful. The setup for our adjoining rooms and patios was a pleasant surprise and the comfortable beds made for good sleeping at the end of a long day of hiking. The kitchenette came in handy, but when we didn't want to cook, the sit-down restaurant served a buffet breakfast and menu dinner. The little pizza restaurant met our grandson's (and our) need for good pizza. Overall, a perfect location to stay when we visit Yosemite. We'll be back.

This is a great choice if you dont want to stay in Yosemite Valley itself. We actually stayed both here and at Yosemite Valley Lodge, and this hotel was much nicer - the rooms were in better condition and the facilities were better overall. We particularly loved the games room which had a great selection of things to do as a family such as pool and foosball. The pizza was also pretty good. We were very happy with our stay here. 30 minute drive from the valley and your entrance to the park lasts 7 days so you dont have to pay to reenter each day.
